Yup, more than its interconnected cities, CBDs have been scattered like mushrooms in the metro for years and decades.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>A\u00a0<strong>central business district (CBD)<\/strong>\u00a0is the commercial and business center of a city. In larger cities, it is often synonymous with the city&#8217;s &#8220;financial district&#8221;.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Metro Manila\u00a0is home to 15 Million people, as well as massive Central Business districts. In 1594, the creation of a Financial District centered in Binondo-Escolta area.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>After the devastation of The Battle for the Liberation of Manila in February of 1945, the need of office space began due to reconstruction efforts.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>This gave way to the first major CBD in the Philippines, the Makati Business District in 1950\u2019s (from Binondo to Makati), which grew larger in the past 60 years.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>As the metropolis expanded, more and more CBD were set up to cater the growing population and economy of the Metropolis. These CBDs include Ortigas Center and Alabang (1980\u2019s), Bonifacio Global City (1995), and Manila Bay Area (2007).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>As of now, there are\u00a0<strong>30 CBD<\/strong>s inside the 600 square kilometers of land within Metropolitan Manila. New CBDs such as Arca South, Bridgtowne, Eastwood City, Greenfield District, Ortigas East, Century City and many more start to shape Manila\u2019s future skyline.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">METRO MANILA CBDs<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>This list includes the Major Districts and secondary CBDs within Metropolitan Manila.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MAKATI CENTRAL<\/h1>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/makatizens.blogspot.com\/2020\/02\/makati-central-business-district.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Makati Central Business District<\/a><\/strong>, also known as the\u00a0<strong>Makati CBD<\/strong>, is the leading financial and central business district in the Philippines located at the heart of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.morefunwithjuan.com\/search\/label\/Makati\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Makati<\/a>\u00a0in Metro Manila.\u00a0The financial district is managed by two groups\u2014the\u00a0<strong>Makati Commercial Estates Association (MaCEA)<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0<strong>Ayala Property Management Corporation (APMC)<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"686\" height=\"386\" class=\"wp-image-322\" style=\"width: 840px; height: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/alexi.pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/MAKATI.jpg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/alexi.pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/MAKATI.jpg 686w, https:\/\/alexi.pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/MAKATI-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 686px) 100vw, 686px\" \/><\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The Makati CBD is a modern urban landscape that emerged from the vision outlined in Presidential Decree 824, signed in 1975 by then-President Ferdinand Marcos. This decree officially declared Makati as the country&#8217;s financial center, paving the way for its remarkable metamorphosis.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>It is politically known as &#8220;Central Cluster&#8221; in the West District of Makati. It is different from the civic center of Makati known as &#8220;Makati Poblacion&#8221; which is situated at the north-east portion of the district.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>It is bounded by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.morefunwithjuan.com\/2022\/07\/edsa-epifanio-de-los-santos-avenue.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">EDSA<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.morefunwithjuan.com\/2023\/06\/gil-puyat-avenue.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Gil Puyat Avenue<\/a>, Arnaiz Avenue, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.morefunwithjuan.com\/2023\/06\/chino-roces-avenue.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Chino Roces Avenue<\/a>. The whole district occupies barangays of San Antonio, San Lorenzo, Bel-Air, and Urdaneta.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>At the nucleus of the Makati CBD is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.morefunwithjuan.com\/2023\/05\/ayala-avenue.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ayala Avenue<\/a>, an iconic thoroughfare that serves as the district&#8217;s financial spine. Lined with towering skyscrapers housing multinational corporations, financial institutions, and embassies, Ayala Avenue is the embodiment of Makati&#8217;s economic prowess.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Beyond its corporate identity, the Makati CBD caters to a diverse range of interests. From upscale restaurants to street food stalls, the district caters to every palate.
